Following Alya Segal’s ongoing project Kruchi, that started in Kyiv during Russia's full scale invasion in Ukraine, Temporary Heaven takes place in Alya Segal’s residency studio at PART, transforming it for two weeks into a fragile and provisional model of paradise. The exhibition, featuring mostly Ukrainian artists, unfolds through intimate spatial constellations where heaven appears not as a promise, but as a temporary condition shaped by loss, displacement, and survival. The works trace multiple, often conflicting imaginaries of paradise: as refuge, illusion, afterimage, and constructed space. Situated between domesticity and instability, Temporary Heaven asks what forms of “paradise” remain possible in a world marked by ongoing violence and forced movement.
