Gülsün Karamustafa is an artist based in Istanbul. Christian Liclair is an art historian and art critic based in Berlin. He was the Foundation’s resident at PART in November 2025.
Gülsün Karamustafa’s artistic practice gives sustained attention to materials often dismissed as decorative, excessive, or out-of-style: leopard prints in its many reincarnations, shiny gold lamé, synthetic wall hangings, second-hand clothes, and gaudy interiors.
The evening begins with a screening of The City and the Secret Panther Fashion (2007) and is followed by a conversation between the artist and Christian Liclair. Their discussion will draw on his recent essay on works by Gülsün Karamustafa that were acquired by the Austrian Ludwig Foundation in 2021 and are on loan to mumok, Vienna.
Doors are open at 6 pm. The talk is in english.
