Meet our new resident in July: Manon de Boer (NL)

July - September 2026

In cooperation with ISTA - Artist in Residence Arts and Science

Manon de Boer is a Brussels-based artist whose work explores an expanded experience of time, anchored in the conditions of creation. Working primarily in film, she increasingly combines it with sculpture and installation, and in 2021 created the performance Ghost Party (1)with Latifa Laâbissi.

Her work has been shown at the Venice Biennial (2007), Berlin Biennial (2008), São Paulo Biennial (2010), Documenta (2012), and Taipei Biennial (2016), with solo exhibitions at Witte de With Rotterdam, Secession Vienna, Gulbenkian Museum Lisbon, and Kanal Centre Pompidou Brussels (2026).

During the residency, she’s continuing her collaboration with ISTA - Artist in Residence Arts and Science, exploring how play and open time support new forms, and whether scientific practice allows similar openness. She also develops Stops, a board game designed in 2025, drawing on scientific modes of questioning.
