Alina Kleytman (b. 1991, Ukraine) works and lives in Torino (IT). She is a multidisciplinary artist working in sculpture, video, and performance. Her work, which she calls “hysterical realism,” explores the intersections of power, trauma, and control, often through dark humor and provocation. Alina Kleytman creates mythologies that blend beauty, violence, and theatricality, destabilizing moral certainties and questioning the boundaries between victim and aggressor.

Her videos and sculptures, ranging from skeletal to ceremonial, oscillate between monument and relic, using materials like velvet, fur, iron, and fragments from conflict zones. She draws from lived experience and speculative fiction, transforming trauma into dark glamour and catastrophe into choreography.

During her residency, she will produce two new video works and develop a sculptural commission for her upcoming solo exhibition Trigger Warning at Kunstverein Friedrichshafen (DE) while engaging with the artistic community in Vienna.

Alina Kleytman holds degrees from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts and the Rodchenko Moscow School of Photography and Multimedia. In 2020, she co-founded the Dzherelo Art Pavilion in Kyiv, a 24/7 public platform for radical art. She is also known for her persona DIRTY WHITE, a figure designed to absorb society’s emotional waste.
