Following the previous exhibition Still Making Art Eight, curated by former curator in residence Aaron McLaughlin, that took place in The Hall in June 2026, PART is proud to keep Jonas Morgenthaler’s work Light Laundry II on display.

Jonas Morgenthaler’s series Light Laundry (2022–ongoing) comprises sculptural works that nestle into the architecture of an exhibition space. Mounted close to the ceiling or in response to existing architectural features, the sculptures assimilate into their surroundings. Referencing common object-space concepts, such as ceiling lamps or curtain rails, the works remain deliberately estranged from their models. The placements shift the relationship between exhibition space and exhibited object, drawing attention to the conditions of display itself. Rooted in assemblage, Morgenthaler's practice displaces everyday objects from stable systems of meaning, perception and affinity. Rather than conveying predetermined narratives, his work reorganises familiar relationships between object, architecture and display, revealing the latent potential of objects to unsettle narrative systems. His sculptures resist resolution and rationalisation, existing as anti-monumental, statusless, or deviant objects that emerge through the very discourse they generate.
