Ama Adoley Newman (b. 2000) is a visual artist based in Tema/Kumasi. Her psychedelic drawings explore simultaneity in time and space through the lens of light, perception, and materiality. She holds a BFA from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where she is currently pursuing her MFA. She has participated in exhibitions and programs in Accra, Kumasi, and Karlsruhe.
During her residency at PART, Ama is focusing on Vienna’s cultural landscape, mostly on how architecture blends with natural elements. Her interest lies in light and its reaction to biological matter, a process that resonates with her broader practice rooted in the sensory qualities of light and everyday materials.
