Nabukenya Allen (aka Njola Impressions) (UG)

May - June 2026

In cooperation with Weltmuseum Wien

Nabukenya Allen, aka Njola and founder of Njola Impressions, is an Ugandan multidisciplinary artist. Her practice transforms discarded materials, including plastic, flip flops, and tires, into artworks, fashion, and installations. Through recycling and community engagement, her work explores sustainability, creativity, and the power of art to turn waste into opportunity.

During her residency at PART, the artist is working on her exhibition at the Theseustempel (Weltmuseum Wien) in Vienna, opening on May 28, 2026. She is also deepening exploration and experimentation within her practice of transforming discarded materials into artworks. Rather than arriving with a fixed outcome, she wants to first experience the environment, materials, and artistic context of Vienna, allowing these encounters to guide the direction of her work and open new possibilities for her practice.

Her exhibition at Theseustempel (Weltmuseum Wien) is on view through October 11, 2026.
